cynthiayu, as you know, "le" indicates the completion of an action. In this sentence, the verb "wan" implies more like a state-being (I was in my friend's house yesterday) than a specific action. "wan" itself can cover a series of different activities, such as playing cards, dancing and eating, etc.
In this case, "le" is not used simply after the verb "wan". Hope this helps.

well..i am not sure if i am correct about this, but i don't think "le" needs to used in this sentence because zuo tian is used. since zuo tian means yesterday, its already understood that the action has been completed. :)
