Contemporary to renowned artists such as Diego Rivera or Frida Kahlo –who were also her close friends– Tina Modotti’s photographs outstand in a brilliant and fundamental period for Mexican artistic creation. Based in a strong aesthetic and ideological compromise, her photographs are an accurate image of a diverse society both in ethnographic and socio-economic terms.

The exhibition of the best work fulfilled by Tina Modotti between 1923 and 1927, arrives at a time when Mexico is celebrating the second centenary of its independence and 100 years after the Mexican Revolution.
